About Deep Shrestha

I’m Deep Shrestha, a singer and musician who has dedicated my life to Nepali music. Born in 1950 in Dharan, I grew up surrounded by music — my father played the violin and flute, and my mother was a singer. Their passion inspired me to start composing songs from a young age.

My professional journey began in the late 1960s, when I started performing on Radio Nepal and taking part in national music competitions. One of my early highlights was winning the Nationwide Music Competition for my song “Bidhawako Sindoorko Rahar.” Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of sharing songs like “Jhaskiyecha Maan Mero,” “Biteka Kura Le,” and “Ma Ta Door Dekhi Aye,” which continue to connect with listeners across generations.

Beyond performing, I’ve also enjoyed mentoring young talents through shows like The Voice of Nepal and Mero Voice Universe. Music has been my lifelong companion, and I feel grateful to have contributed to its growth in Nepal. Every song I sing carries a piece of my journey, my emotions, and my love for this beautiful art.
