About Rohit John Chettri

Rohit John Chettri, also known as RJC, is a prominent singer, musician, music producer, lyricist, and guitarist from Kathmandu, Nepal. His musical journey was deeply influenced by his father, a passionate music lover with whom Chettri would often play instruments like the guitar and harmonium. His first foray into music began at the age of seven when he sang a song by Karna Das during an inter-school competition, marking the start of his dream to become a singer-songwriter. In high school, he formed a band called "Derailed," where he served as both vocalist and drummer. Chettri later performed at various pubs and private events to fund the production of his debut album. His breakthrough came with the release of "Bistarai Bistarai" in 2015, which gained him widespread recognition in Nepal. That same year, he joined the legendary Nepalese rock band 1974 AD, stepping in after the departure of Adrian Pradhan and Phiroj Shyagden. As the frontman of the "new" 1974 AD, he contributed to the album "Hazaar Sapana," released in 2016.
