Suraj Kumar Thapa is a veteran Nepali singer, composer, and musician with over 34 years of contribution to the Nepali music industry. Born on August 23, 1976, in Lalitpur, Nepal, he was trained under the legendary Ambar Gurung and formally began his professional career after passing Radio Nepal’s Vocal Test in 1991.

He has released several acclaimed albums including Paribhasha, Canvas, Chinari, Nishani 53 (patriotic collection), and Thet (evergreen folk songs). Widely loved for songs like Pachim Kohi Purwa Ghar, Gahiro Ghau, and Timro Aakhako Bhaaka, Suraj has also worked as a playback singer for Nepali films. A long-time member of the iconic band Nepathya, he has performed worldwide and received multiple prestigious awards, including Image Awards, OS Music Awards, and the Natikaji Rastriya Pratibha Puraskar.
