About Sujata Verma
Hello! I’m Sujata Verma, a Nepali singer with a deep passion for music that spans both classical and contemporary styles. Born and raised in Kathmandu, I started my journey into music at a very young age under the guidance of my father, Guru Vinaya Verma, a respected Hindustani classical vocal teacher. His mentorship instilled in me the discipline and soul of classical music, which continues to influence every note I sing.
Over the years, I have explored various genres — from Hindustani classical concerts to playback singing for Nepali films, and solo performances that connect with audiences across generations. Some of my notable works include the film song “Ye Daju Nasmau” from Chhakka Panja 2, along with several memorable covers and original renditions that showcase my love for melody and musical storytelling.
Music for me is not just a profession — it’s a way to connect hearts, share emotions, and preserve the rich musical heritage of Nepal while embracing modern sounds. Whether performing on stage, recording in the studio, or mentoring young talents, my goal is to create music that resonates and inspires.
