Nirnaya Shrestha, affectionately known as Nirnaya da NSK, emerges as a vibrant and indispensable figure in the Nepali music scene, instantly recognizable by his signature red cap, white hand bands, and distinctive style. As a pioneer in the realm of hip-hop and rap music, Nirnaya's influence reverberates throughout the industry, setting a standard that few could hope to match. Born on February 15th in Birgunj, his musical journey began in earnest when he relocated to America with his father, Dr. Shantinath Shrestha, in 1988. Despite his young age, Nirnaya's innate talent for music was evident, leading him to pursue guitar classes and actively participate in school shows. It was during this formative period that he found his passion for rap music, drawn to its ability to encapsulate life's myriad experiences in a single song. Upon returning to Nepal and enrolling at St. Xavier School, Nirnaya embarked on a mission to introduce rap music to Nepali audiences, hosting the program "Bring the House Down" on Image FM in 1999. Teaming up with fellow musicians, including Samrat and Rinchin, Nirnaya co-founded "The Rappers' Union," driven by a shared vision of uniting aspiring rappers under one banner. Their debut album, "For U All," released in 2000, showcased a fusion of Nepali and English tracks, resonating with listeners and selling over a thousand copies. Despite the challenges and setbacks along the way, Nirnaya's dedication to his craft and his unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of Nepali music continue to define his illustrious career.
